4-Day Tarangire – Serengeti Ngorongoro & Manyara Safari

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be warmly welcomed by your Raventure Safaris driver-guide. From here, you’ll head straight to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2 hrs drive). For guests arriving late in the day, we recommend overnighting in Arusha and beginning the safari the next morning.

Your adventure begins with a full-day game drive in Tarangire, home to the largest elephant herds in Tanzania, iconic baobab trees, and diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and buffalo. The Tarangire River sustains life during the dry season, attracting an incredible concentration of animals and bird species.

After an exciting day, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a comfortable midrange lodge near Tarangire.

After an early breakfast, depart for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. From the crater rim, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views before descending 600 meters to the crater floor, home to over 25,000 animals including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and the rare black rhino.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before continuing your scenic drive toward the Serengeti National Park. As you enter the endless plains, expect to see migrating herds (depending on the season), as well as predators on the move. In the evening, settle into your comfortable midrange tented camp inside Serengeti for dinner and overnight rest.

Wake up to the sounds of the Serengeti and set out early for a sunrise game drive. This is the best time to witness predators in action and the plains coming alive with wildlife. Look out for the Big Five, cheetahs sprinting across the savannah, and large herds of herbivores grazing under the acacia trees.

In the afternoon, continue your journey with a transfer game drive out of the Serengeti and head toward Karatu, near the Ngorongoro highlands, for dinner and overnight at a comfortable midrange lodge.

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful reserve set against the dramatic backdrop of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is known for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and more than 500 bird species, including flamingos along the lakeshore.
Following your final game drive, enjoy lunch and begin your transfer back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
